Station 15
Around the tomb of Jesus you will find many rooms, chapels and places of worship, which were built throughout the centuries. In Greek Orthodox tradition the entire Church of the Holy Sepulcher is called “Anastasis”, which means “Resurrection”.
“While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel. And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, ‘Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen’” (Luke 24:4-6).
In the book of Hosea (13:14), God says: “I will deliver this people from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death. Where, O death, are your plagues? Where, O grave is your destruction?” Jesus fulfilled that prophecy – He rose from the dead and invites us to rise with Him.
Reflection
Paul wrote in Corinthians (15:54), when the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in Victory.” Even though each one of us dies we will be resurrected in a new body just as Jesus has been resurrected.
God is love and in his provision he is giving us everything. Jesus said: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
If you never have received the Holy Spirit and experienced His powerful working in your life then take courage and ask God to fill you with His Holy Spirit.
Prayer
Lord, I want to receive your Holy Spirit into my life – be Lord over my life; take me and change me into your servant. In Jesus name, Amen!
